William Goddard, aged 22, found guilty on an indictment for breaking into the dwelling house of James Ticknor in the parish of Woking on 20th August 1785; and stealing therefrom a cloth cloak (valued at 16/-), a printed cotton gown (valued at 6/-),  a blue quilted petticoat (valued at 12/-), a check linen apron (valued at 2/-), a linen shift (valued at 18d), a coarse linen shirt (valued at18d), a pair of base metal shoe buckles (valued at 1d), a black cloth waistcoat (valued at 1/-), a pair of worsted stockings (valued at 1/-), a linen shift (valued at 3/-), a check linen apron (valued at 1/-), ½ yard of muslin (valued at 1/-), a cotton handkerchief (valued t 14d), a printed calico handkerchief (valued at 1/-), a linen cap (valued at 5d) and 2 other linen caps with lace (valued at 1/-).
